I've faced a lot of this in my career. Advocating a point of view, being clear with expectations, and acting decisively causes all sort of assertiveness backlash for female leaders. What makes it worse, is when publications and articles are written to advise women how to behave instead - i.e. how to soften their assertiveness to be more paletable. While I appreciate this is well intentioned, it's putting the responsobility for the mistreatment on the victims, rather than encouraging the general population to educate themselves on their biases.
